LONDON TOAST THEATRE
– an English phenomenon in Danish theatre
The Theatre Museum at The Court Theatre, the more than 250-year-old theater on Slotsholmen, has undergone a beautiful, thorough and gentle restoration over the past five years. On Saturday, March 7, 2026, the Theater Museum in Hofteatret will reopen to the public as both a historical attraction, a living stage space, a modern theater museum and a cultural meeting place and we couldn’t recommend a visit to this unique and amazing historical place more.
Before the restoration - back in 2014 - London Toast Theatre was invited in for an exhibition about our theatre’s magical and Crazy history, and in connection with that this little video was made - enjoy!
Later - in 2023 - Vivienne was asked to be a part of BAG SCENEN, The Theatre Museum at The Court Theatre’s podcast series with personal stories – often surprising stories about paths through the world of theatre and Danish theatre culture that would otherwise not be told or that will eventually disappear and be forgotten.
In each episode we meet a new guest, a designer, a director, a dramaturg, a playwright, a critic, a theatre designer, a stage or sound technician, a theatre painter, a prompter or a theatre director. One person, many stories. The recordings take place in the historic Hofteater or out in the country. Meet, among others, Jytte Abildstrøm, Vivienne McKee, Kaspar Rostrup, Eva Deichmann, Per Kap Bech Jensen, Karin Betz, Lisbet Dahl, Kasper Wilton, Line Knutzon, Pelle Koppel, Lone Hertz, Niels Brunse and many more.
